Bright = gay = humanist = fag?

I think Richard Dawkins may overestimate how much the word gay itself has changed the lives of homosexual men. And he inhabits too rarified a world to have every heard a teenager say that's so gay!.
"Humanism" from the mouth of a Baptist preacher sounds like the worst thing in perversion (not that I believe in perversion) since Sodom and Gomorrah. Should bright catch on I'm sure their tongues will be equally adept at making 'bright' sound nasty.
Maybe I'm being too pessimistic. Perhaps some people will be able to call themselves brights who can't call themselves atheists. It'll take many more people with the prestige of Dawkins and Daniel Dennett to keep it from inspiring a giggle.
