Reading back I am struck by how insightful. I am also bewildered how I had all this keen insight right from the get go and none of it made a damn bit of difference.

Equally wonderful and awful how self-insight doesn't stop us from being boneheaded. But to be fair you don't know what stupid things you might've done without the self-awareness.
