I assume that the majority if not all those opposed to the legalization of gay marriage are operating from areas of their psyche that are beyond the reach of reason. However, I would like to offer the following proposition: That the legalization of gay marriage would ennoble to concept of marriage per se including heterosexual marriages.
When a woman, for example, marries a man she is declaring, implicitly, “I have chosen you from among all the men I know to be my loving partner, confidante and friend…”
Were gay marriages to be legal, her implicit vow would be “I have chosen you from among all the men and women I know to be my loving partner, confidante and friend…”

Homosexuality is as old as creation itself. I see no reason why anyone should make such a big hoo-ha over it. Many Christians, Jews and Muslims would glower and bristle if anyone insists that David and Jonathan had a homosexual relationship. Immature and/or hypocritical, I call it. I think David and Jonathan’s relationship is less to blush about than King David’s acquisition of Bathsheba. Or Abraham’s banishment of Hagar and Ishmael (his own son!) into the desert. But let that pass. I do not wish to share the same fate as Salman Rushdie. But this, I will say - there is neither anything to be proud or ashamed of in being gay or bisexual. It’s just like being left-handed. What do YOU say? All the best.
