Pointer Sisters don't fire me up

I like female vocal groups; I like the song Neutron Dance. Seemed likely that I'd enjoy more of The Pointer Sisters. I tried an anthology a few years back without enjoying any of the other songs.
Sometimes I find on a later listening my tastes have changed or widened. After listening to both discs of Fire: The Very Best of the Pointer Sisters I find that their music still doesn't give me any pleasure.
The vocal harmonies aren't strong. Much of the music itself strikes me as middle of the road. Never very funky or distinctive.
