Labels are good things if they make useful distinctions. One problem with labels is people don’t use them just to describe but to imply disapproval. And labels are general. I’m a white middle-aged self-employed atheist. Four labels that are all true. But they don’t define me, the definition is in small things, the details. Lots of labels are trendy slang, probably best unused, soon to be forgotten. Labels shouldn’t be taken too seriously but people bitch about them too much. You can’t communicate without words.
Pan means “all.” I like pansexual better than bisexual because I feel that pansexual better expresses that I’m attracted to genetic males and females and the more ambiguously gendered. Bi means “two” and seems to leave the last folks out.
Metrosexual is a trendy word that doesn’t mean much more than yuppie male.
