Slow Road to HRT

Alex emailed me:
My GP told me what I expected, he needs Dr. Curtis to actually tell him what he needs to prescribe for me, but he’s being 100% co-operative so when I go to London in a couple of weeks that’ll be when I start, I’m almost certain :)
Pity that wasn’t done at the beginning but perhaps her gender specialist is used to the local NHS physician making the actual choice of hormone and dosage.
Even so over here in America I’d expect one doctor to have his staff call the other doctor’s office. Not require the patient to go across the country to pickup a bit of paper (and pay for a visit).
But if Alex is satisfied I’m not going to complain.
Hopefully by the beginning of August Alex will finally begin her physical transition.
She won’t be able to fly on an airplane for a time after beginning HRT so I don’t know how long it will be before I’ll have her again in my arms.
