No Paxil, to hell with Lithium, here comes Lexapro
» My Life is an Open Blog
A more competent doctor than Duke provides him told Charles there was no point in trying Paxil. If you’ve exhausted the effect of one SSRI (Zoloft) another won’t be more efficacious.
His Duke psychiatrist put him on Lithium. You can’t take aspirin with Lithium. Today Charles realized that mesalamine, one of the medications he takes for crohn’s disease is essentially aspirin (time released into the intestine). So he can’t continue with Lithium.
Next drug: Lexapro. One of Charles’ friends is using it with good results. Hope the same proves true for Charles.
