A more competent doctor than Duke provides him told Charles there was no point in trying Paxil. If youíve exhausted the effect of one SSRI (Zoloft) another wonít be more efficacious.
His Duke psychiatrist put him on Lithium. You canít take aspirin with Lithium. Today Charles realized that mesalamine, one of the medications he takes for crohnís disease is essentially aspirin (time released into the intestine). So he canít continue with Lithium.
Next drug: Lexapro. One of Charlesí friends is using it with good results. Hope the same proves true for Charles.
