1970s Schlock : The Bad Guys Win

I’ve been re-watching some bottom of the barrel 1970s horror movies.

I’d forgotten how many of those had unhappy endings: evil people got away with their crimes, aliens managed to subjugate or destroy the Earth.

Honestly I’d rather that justice had triumphed. That is one of the pleasure of simple entertainment. Tragedy has a place but not in the hands of hacks.

Were the evildoers clever or attractive you’d root for them as you often to for the villain. But these bad guys are such nonentities.
